KIND to Showcase K-City Network’s Global Achievements at World Smart City Expo

- Invitational Program for Government Officials from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Poland

- KIND and KAIA to jointly showcase K-City Network achievements and smart city solutions by Korean companies

- Global Partnership Forum to be held on September 10 to explore concrete business participation and investment opportunities

The Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (KIND), headed by President and CEO Bok-hwan Kim, announced that it will participate in the World Smart City Expo (WSCE), to be held at BEXCO in Busan from September 9 to 11. As part of its participation, KIND will organize an invitational program for partner countries, operate a promotional exhibition booth, and host a project progress briefing and business networking session to expand the global impact of the K-City Network.

The invitational delegation will consist of approximately 20 government and municipal officials from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Poland, partner countries participating in the 2026 K-City Network planning projects. During the program, participants will learn about Korea’s smart city policies, technologies, and urban development experience, while engaging in working-level discussions on individual projects and networking with Korean public institutions and companies.

In particular, the delegation will have opportunities to explore technologies and solutions in urban development, transportation, and integrated control systems. These activities are expected to help further develop the plans currently being prepared and identify potential areas for future cooperation.

During the WSCE, KIND and the Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement (KAIA) will jointly operate the **K-City Network Global Cooperation Program Promotion and Exhibition Booth**. The booth will provide information on the K-City Network, including an overview of the program, its implementation status, key achievements, and ways for companies and institutions to participate.

The booth will also showcase major outputs from KIND’s planning projects as well as smart city solutions developed by Korean companies participating in KAIA’s overseas demonstration projects. A wide range of technologies will be presented, including traffic analysis and signal control, incident detection, water management, and disaster response solutions. KIND and KAIA will also provide consultations for Korean and overseas companies and institutions interested in participating in the program.

On September 10, KIND will host the 2026 K-City Network Global Smart City Partnership Forum, under the theme “K-City Meets Global Business Opportunities.” At the forum, KIND will present interim results and key development concepts for three projects to Korean companies: the Alatau Smart Town Project in Kazakhstan, the Aero-City Project near Tashkent New International Airport in Uzbekistan, and the Lublin Smart City Project in Poland.

The forum will be followed by a business networking session bringing together officials from partner countries, project implementing organizations, and interested Korean companies to discuss opportunities for future project participation, investment, and cooperation. Through these discussions, KIND aims to explore opportunities to translate the outcomes of the planning projects into follow-up initiatives, including demonstration projects, urban development projects, and investments.

“At this year’s WSCE, we plan to expand the impact of the K-City Network and create more opportunities for Korean companies by closely linking the invitational program, project exhibition, and business networking session,” a KIND official said. “We will continue to strengthen connections between our partner countries and Korean companies so that the projects move beyond the planning stage and lead to overseas business opportunities and follow-up projects for Korean companies.”
