KIND Secures First Logistics Hub in Europe through Public-Private Partnership
- Forms 'Team Korea' with LX Pantos and KOMC, Completes Investment in Key Eastern European Logistics Location -
Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (President Kim Bok-hwan, hereinafter "KIND") has successfully completed its investment execution in the Katowice Logistics Center in Poland by forming a public-private 'Team Korea' partnership, launching full-scale support to strengthen Korean companies' competitiveness in the European market and logistics network in response to recent global supply chain restructuring and increasing uncertainties.
The project site, Katowice region, is the center of Silesia Province, Poland's largest industrial area, and is recognized as a key logistics hub connecting all of Europe based on its excellent connectivity with major neighboring countries including Germany, Czech Republic, and Slovakia.
This project was promoted to enhance the global logistics network competitiveness of Korean companies and secure global supply chain stability. KIND finalized this investment based on close partnerships with LX Pantos, PIS Fund, and Korea Ocean Business Corporation (KOMC).
In particular, this project is KIND's first logistics facility investment execution case in the European region, where KIND acted as an anchor investor by directly and indirectly participating in 65% of capital financing through a combination of direct investment and the policy fund PIS Fund.
Based on this, it is expected to lead the preemptive securing of a logistics bridgehead for Korean companies in Eastern Europe and create an overseas order inducement effect of approximately USD 148 million.
A KIND official stated, "As a specialized overseas investment institution, we will continue to provide comprehensive support to help Korean companies gain an advantage in overseas orders and investment-development projects in the European region."
